The Sardus Pater winery is located on the island of Sant’Antioco, in the south-western part of Sardinia.
Established in 1949 as a cooperative company a.r.l. , started its activity in 1955.
Over the years the production of the wines has been refined and has focused above all on the enhancement of the Carignano grape.
The grapes, conferred by the 200 members, come from a vineyard area of 300 hectares. Most of the vineyards are of Carignano grapes and the oldest vineyards are located on the island of Sant’Antioco.
They are vineyards of at least 50 years, planted on sandy soils with low yields per hectare that produce excellent quality grapes.
It is from these vineyards that the winery produces its finest red wines.
From the 1994 harvest, the winery begins the production of Vermentino. There is also a small but well-kept Muscat and Nasco production, from vines with free footing, and Monica and Cannonau grapes.
Each bottle produced is the result of a careful selection of grapes and careful vinification, to guarantee the consumer a wine of the best quality.
The oenological management of the company is entrusted to the oenologist Francesco Bertagna with the oenological advice of Riccardo Cotarella.
